CCW; Classic Sugar Cookies & Buttercream Frosting

Okay, so I know they’re pretty ugly. But that only reflects on my decorating skills, not on how ridiculously good these cookies are!

Ah, the classic sugar cookie. The staple of any Christmas celebration, at least in my house. I’m one of those people who make sugar cookies for literally every holiday. Halloween? Bat and spooky house sugar cookies. Valentine’s Day? Cute little heart shaped sugar cookies. 4th of July? No, I don’t make cookies then, mostly because I live in Florida and if I were to turn on my oven I’m 90% sure my entire house would burst into flames.

Classic Sugar Cookies & Buttercream Frosting

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp almond extract

1 egg

2 tsp baking powder

3 cup flour

1/2 cup butter, softened

4 cup powdered sugar

3-5 tbsp milk

2 tbsp vanilla extract

For the cookies, start with beating together your butter and sugar. Add in the egg and extracts, mix and set aside. In another bowl, combine your flour and baking powder. Then in thirds mix together your wet and dry ingredients. After that, roll it out, cut it out and pop those suckers in your oven for 6-8 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
