Happy Friday my dudes!
First off, I’m sorry for not being super present on here. And for pulling all of the recipes. Right now I’m working on redoing everything and being 100% super that I’m putting out content I enjoy and am proud of, instead of just slapping some stuff on here and calling it a day. But while that is happening, I thought I’d show you guys what I’ve been up to.
As of right now I’m working in retail full time and loving it! It’s inconsequential in sense of when I leave work, I actually leave work. Instead of being worried about what’s going to happen while I’m gone and what needs to get done, I can finally focus on other goals I have outside of work.
So today was the first day Mason and I have had off together in a while so we thought we’d make the most of it. While in Chicago last September we got into using Car2Go, which is this excellent car service that is super convenient (and cheaper!) than using Lyft or Uber for everything. 10/10 would recommend!
We decided to start our day with some lunch and brews at the new Great Notion location in northwest Portland and they have an incredible veggie crunchwrap made with Impossible Patties. I didn’t get a picture of it but damn is it good.
After that we walked to the nearest Car2Go and set out for Vancouver WA to try out Trapdoor Brewing.
They had an incredible sour DIPA that I loved, and Mason got a flight since we had never been before and he wanted to try everything. Next door is two food carts where we shared some chips and guacamole.
After Trapdoor we decided to head back to Portland to hit Basecamp Brewing because we saw on their IG that they had taken down the tent covering their patio for the season and it’s so fun there! I got the Kreik they had on tap and Mason got a barrel aged stout that came with a roasted marshmallow on the rim, which is super fun.
After enjoying our brews in the sun the topic of dinner came up and Mason told me that he had seen that Food Fight Grocery was now carrying vegan taquitos which felt like he was reading my mind since I had been craving taquitos for the last two weeks. So we took the four block walk to vegan row in search of vegan soft serve and taquitos.
Now of course it wouldn’t be us if we didn’t go a little overboard with the vegan goodies at Food Fight so we grabbed a couple more things we wanted/needed in our lives.
Now you’d think we would take a break from eating after the crunchwrap, the chips and guacamole, and the soft serve but of course by the time we got home it felt like a good time to start dinner. So we decided on taquitos with beans and rice, mixed with enchilada sauce and a brownie for dessert.
Then we decided to top off our awesome day off with an OA season 2 binge and a bath.
